Meaningful Comics

In The Complete Persepolis, written by Marjane Satrapi, she is able to send a meaningful message through comics. Some of the simplest comics in the book are as strong as written words and they definitely allow the reader to visualize the event she is talking about. Some may argue that comics is not a serious form of literature, but I argue the opposite. I believe that comics can be as powerful and meaningful as it can be if it's illustrated the right way. Marjane did an excellent job in the book to illustrate the comics. The pictures were not gruesome but just enough to explain the difficulties in her life during the revolution. I like the book very much and I think it would lose its "touch" if the comics were not included.
